Beatriz Cortez is a writer and an artist. She was born in El Salvador and has lived in the United States since 1989. Her work explores memory and loss in the aftermath of war and in relation to the experience of immigration. She has shown her work in Los Angeles, San Francisco, El Salvador, and Costa Rica.
