Los Angeles artist Mari Beltran creates and examines the multiple functions of space through photography, film, installation, and writing. Architecture, sculpture and design inform her work, as well as her background in arts education and poetry. Mari also works with precious metals and hand-forges gold and silver jewelry. Recently, her work has been exhibited with the California African American Museum and the Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach. During the summers she teaches photography workshops to middle and high school students. She is currently pursuing her MFA in Photography & Media and Creative Writing at CalArts.
